51^st Season, Issue No. 1 Newsletter of the Elmhurst Ski Club August 2007

PREZ SEZ:

For those of you who missed Elmhurst Ski Club’s 50^th anniversary party, you missed a really good time. There were attendees who started the club 50 years ago. People came from Washington State, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Florida for a total of 90 current and previous members attending. Many people brought old pictures and the evening was spent reminiscing about “the good old days”. Several members put on a “skit” talking about silly and hysterical happenings on past ski trips. Several members got together and sang about ESC to the tune of the Chicago Bears Super bowl Shuffle. Trophies for racing were passed out. And a special thanks was given to Debbie Clegg for her many years of support and dedication to ESC. She’s held just about every Board position, has been active in the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council, provides a lot of input and information on our winter trips, and has been a tremendous asset to ESC. Thanks again, Debbie. The evening ended with everyone singing the ESC song. Anyway, a good time was had by all with GREAT conversation and camaraderie.

A couple years ago Lester Hampton took over the ESC web site. When he took over, our site was in its infancy with not a lot of information. This was a real learning experience for Lester as he had never developed a web site before. He not only learned ----- he excelled! Today we have a great site with many pictures and recaps of our past events and information on future events. Lester is stepping down from our Webmaster position. I would like to give him a HUGE thank-you. What an exceptional job he did, and his efforts are sincerely appreciated.

Taking over the web site are Stefanie Hampton and Brian Hallacker. Brian is a new member this year who has become very active, attending all our activities. Stefanie is the member who hosts many of our social get-togethers. You two have big shoes to fill but we are confident you can make the site even bigger and better.
