Cardboard Cup.  Hope your calendars are already marked for Saturday, June 23^rd.  That’s the date for the cardboard cup race in Crystal Lake.  It’s a day of fun and laughter at the antics of people who have hand-crafted their “boats”.  The gates open at 9:00 am but I’d recommend we meet at the front gate at 10:00 am.  Races begin at noon.  Admission is $3.00 per person.  Coolers with food and beverages are allowed (yes, you can take in alcohol) or you can purchase food and pop at the concession stand.  There have also been a couple of food vendors in prior years.  NO GLASS is allowed in the park tho.  Also, the benches and picnic tables fill up quickly so you might want to bring a blanket or lawn chair.  For directions, recommend you go to MapQuest.  The lake/park address is 300 Lake Shore Drive in Crystal Lake.  You can get more information about the event at www.CardboardCup.com.  Hope to see you all there.
